Welcome, DAV Chapter 36 Members. This learning space is designed to help us grow, reflect, and strengthen how we conduct ourselves — both as veterans and as leaders in our community.
The free audios you’ll hear are inspired by Chalmers Brothers’ teachings from his book “Language and the Pursuit of Happiness.” These lessons remind us that how we speak, listen, and interact doesn’t just describe our world — it creates it.
But here’s the truth: it will take more than just a one time listen. To really understand and embody these teachings, you’ll need to come back to them again and again — to listen, reflect, and practice together. Just like we trained in the service, mastery comes through repetition, awareness and recurrent practice. We need to have training sessions together with our group until we understand them.
I created the audios an interpretation of the book’s ideas. I encourage every member to visit Chalmers Brothers’ website, listen to his free recordings, and consider purchasing the book on Amazon or at your favorite used bookstore. It’s a small investment with a lifelong return.
These teachings aren’t just for personal growth — they also apply to how we work together as a team, how we lead, listen, and serve others. Remember practice makes perfect. This is another step in keeping our DAV36 family strong and moving forward.
